Integrated eXecution Management (IXM) Framework

The Computational Grid is used as the backbone for the Incremental eXecution Management (IXM) framework, which is specifically designed to leverage the grid for planning algorithms such as those encountered in supply chain operations. This framework can be used to great effect for any algorithm which can be broken into smaller, parallel tasks. For example, it's possible to create a stocking plan with several variations. What would we do if a particular supplier is not able to meet their obligation? Another example might involve computing optimized shipping and delivery routes. Again, multiple versions of the plan can be run, taking into account the effects of carrier delays. These different scenarios can be run in parallel and would represent perfect candidates for IXM Engine tasks.
