Creating Accessorial Rates for Allowances

Complete the following steps to create an accessorial rate:

  1. L og in to the ONE system.

  2. Click Menus/Favs > Contract Mgmt > Allowances.
    In the NEO UI, users can click on the Menus/Favs icon on the left sidebar and type in the name of the screen in the menu search bar. For more information, see "Using the Menu Search Bar."
    The Allowances screen appears.

  3. Navigate to Accessorial Rates in the Explorer pane.
    The right pane updates.

  4. Click the Create Accessorial Rate button.
    The Create Accessorial Rate screen appears.

  5. Fill out the following fields. Fields with an asterisk ( * ) are required.

    Description

    * Effective Period

    Select a date range.

    * Lane

    Use the picker tool to select an existing lane. If an existing lane does not exist, click the New Lane link and follow these steps:

    1. Select the origin type from the dropdown menu and its specific name using the picker tool for * Lane From.

    2. Select the destination type from the dropdown menu and its specific name using the picker tool for * To.


    1. (New lane) For a new lane, click the New Lane link.
      Additional fields appear for defining lane options.

    2. Select a Lane From option.

    3. (Site) In Lane From: Site, select a site.

    4. (Partner Site) In Lane From: Partner Site, select a partner site.

    5. (Region) In Lane From: Region, select a region.

    * Cost Type

    Select the cost type from the dropdown menu. Cost type values have unique parameters and will display additional fields. The Flat cost type is the default.

    Multiple cost types are supported for each base rate. The cost can be modeled as a single value or by steps. In case multi-leg shipments, the cost type selected for the final leg is used to calculate the movement cost.

    * Type

    Select a rate type from the dropdown menu.

    * Rating Type

    Select a rate type from the dropdown menu.

    Rate Min/Max

    Enter a rate minimum and maximum and a currency.

    Apply Above

    Enter a number of miles.

    Allow Steps

    This field becomes editable based on other fields.

    * Rates

    Enter a rate and a unit of measure.

    * Equipment

    Select an equipment type from the dropdown menu.

    Service Level

    Select a service level using the picker tool.

    Commodity Code

    Select a commodity code from the dropdown menu.

    Partner Profile

    Select a partner profile using the picker tool.

    * Accessorial

    Select an accessorial option using the picker tool.

    Use In Transportation Cost

    Select this checkbox if the accessorial is used when calculating transportation cost.

    * Moving Index

    Select a moving index using the picker tool.

    Use For Reverse Lane

    Select this checkbox to use these setting for the reverse lane.

    Taxable?

    Select this checkbox if the accessorial rate is taxable.

    Charge Always?

    Select this checkbox if this accessorial should always be charged.

    When a Site Accessorial Rate is configured as "Charge Always," the accessorial rate will be applied whether the shipment has those accessorial codes or not. Otherwise, only if the shipment has an accessorial code, the corresponding accessorial rate will be included.

  6. Click Save.
    A success message appears.

  7. Click the Refresh button.
    The new accessorial rate appears in the Accessorial Rate pane.
