Yard Management

This chapter covers Yard Management features available as part of regular Transportation Execution. These process flows are applicable to any organization owning a site. The following terms refer to yard management operation:

• Yard Location: An area representing a yard location within a site. Each site can have one or more yard locations.

• Yard Slot: A slot in a yard Location. Each yard location represents one or more slots.

• Trailer Move: An operation representing a life cycle of a trailer from when it enters a site until it is leaving the site.

You will be able to manage yard locations for a given site using the Yard Explorer. The following operations are allowed for yard locations:

• You can create one or more yard locations for a given site. You can identify yard slots by numbering columns and rows.

• The system automatically numbers yard slots, but they can be renamed as needed using the Rename operation.

• You have complete visibility to the current yard location with icons representing slots as occupied or vacant and whether the trailers occupying the slots are Empty or Full.
