Blanket Orders
A blanket order is an overarching agreement of a single quantity of a product to be delivered in smaller quantities over time. For example, a buyer might want to purchase a large quantity of product A in order to receive bulk order discounts but needs to receive the order in smaller, monthly shipments.
Blanket orders allow for vendors to place shipments directly against the contract without a release, unlike normal purchase order (PO) contracts where the buyer places the POs against the contract. In addition, shipments can be scheduled at set intervals. Blanket orders also support both POs and deployment orders (DOs).
This section describes the various blanket order-related workflows users can perform from the user interface.
